Maybe Grimmsnarl, and to a lesser extent Coalossal? I feel like gen 8’s choice in Dragupult is one of the weakest ones, and there’s some room for jockeying there.
Tinkaton if you’re being generous.

I’m hesitant for Nidoking because the inherent “paired” mechanic of the Nido-lines takes away from the feeling. It’s a Kaijumon, but it’s not in the same lane as pseudos.

I'm just imagining a timeline where the Nido family was all one line. Nidoking could have totally worked as a Dragon/Ground to contrast Dragonite or Dragon/Poison.

Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, Kalos, Alola, Galar, and Paldea have nothing for those strict requirements, while Flygon, Vanilluxe, Klinklang, and Haxorus are what remains imo.

Out of those, I'd love to see Klinklang get its 520 bst popped up to 600. 70/110/125/80/115/100 (every stat +10, then SpD +20 more) seems fair and balanced imo for a mon that evolves at Lv. 49!

It's worth remembering that Pokemon's "balance" has completely shifted since Gen I. A vast majority of Pokemon in it got shit for moves, even in the late game. Some barely even get decent STAB moves, and I don't just mean Bug-types. Powerful mons might get held back by poor move selection. Entire types and Pokemon existed mostly to facilitate a certain difficulty curve in the campaign. The Nido family stands out by having not only STAB Earthquake, but also a huge move pool covering a wide range of types. These easily made up for any problems with the stats or even type (Poison was Not Great in the Psychic Dominated Gen I). And Pokemon was primarily a single player campaign back then, multiplayer was obvious a low consideration with "balance."

Nowadays, all that context has fallen by the wayside, leaving the Nido's to have merely decent movepools and adequate stats.

The original reply wasn't correct in any context, let alone the one you couldn't even bother to specify. None of the Gen 1 legendaries, *including* the legendary birds share the same BST in Gen 1. Furthermore, Cloyster is a two-stage stone evo; it isn't remotely in the same realm of eligibility as pseudos as many other mentions in the thread, which are at least three-stage lines that evolve at high levels.

I'm getting really tired of Dragon Type pseudo legendaries. I really liked the oddball picks of Tyranitar and Metagross, wish they'd make more weird looking pseudos with decent but uncommon type combos (Electric/Water, Ice/Fighting, Bug/Ghost)
