>>57422855Something I've noticed is that the modern dex that people seem to like the most is Alola, and I think that has to do with the fact that the games really focus on the new mons, with the old ones mostly supplementing the experience.
Kalos/Galar/Paldea have some of the largest regional dexes in the series and toss so many old Pokémon at you while introducing much fewer new Pokemon, particularly when you eliminate starters/legendaries and only focus on what you're actually seeing in your playthrough. It's like Johto's design on steroids, where the old dex shares as much of if not more of the spotlight with the new.
