Kept you all, waiting huh? I’m sorry, but I had to make sure I could trust you with this information!

Z-A will be dropping in May, and it does take place in the past, but it doesn’t seem as ancient as the Arceus game did. Apparently it will make some players question how far in the future the original X&Y takes place to begin with. There is no crafting in this game, its place is occupied by camera maintenance and development, as the player is tasked with photo & video documenting the Pokemon of Lumiose. This is where most of the games quests are. You can upgrade your camera to enable filters, wide shot, distant zoom, etc. It starts off as a beat up camera with grainy low quality brown visuals that can only take pictures. The story is told in chunks while taking on special missions for a mysterious boss who leaves letters and doesn’t show himself. His missions involve venturing out to specific locations and questioning certain characters, leading to many battles and discoveries. Turns out the city developers are corrupt and don’t have Lumiose’s interest at heart, their attempts to contain and subdue wild Pokemon are driving Zygarde into a rage, which they’re trying to cover up. Some of these missions will unlock special new zones outside of the city where you can find free items as well as certain Pokemon and NPCs. In the end, the player will unite the forces of the XYZ legends in powered up new forms to defeat the boss of the company. The end of his battle reveals that he’s been under the influence of a dangerous Steel/Electric legendary Pokemon named Arrinieu who seems to have been opposing Zygarde for some time. Despite abilities not being present in the game, Arrinieu has something called “The Earth Eater” where it heals itself instead of taking damage from Ground attacks. After defeating Arrinieu, you learn that the boss of the company was also the one assigning you the special missions — in lapses of his hypnotism.
