First fossil was Kabuto, Kabutops is one of my favorite mons. I've used every fossilmon at least once in every gen playthrough except for Arctovish I think.
Also shiny hunted a Amaura in Gen 8, hopefully I can transfer it to Z/A.

I feel like we haven't gotten a proper pteranodon or stegosaurus which are pretty staple dinosaurs, so I wouldn't mind seeing that.
If we're going non-dinos, maybe Indricotherium (largest land mammal that existed), or Sabertooth tigers.
I also wouldn't mind if they did something like Past-Paradox mons but as a regional variant, like if there was a prehistoric Venipede variant that went extinct in the new region, and the only way to get it was to revive it from its fossil.

Kabutops was my first, sadly it was pretty bad in gen 1 and it being available all the way up in cinnabar didn't make it better.
Still use it a fair bit whenever it's available, it's a Pokemon I have a very soft spot for, sadly Kabutop evolves at level 40 and has a terrible level up movepool.
I would adore seeing either a Therizinosaurus, a Terror Bird, not sure which to be frank, Titatis would probably be the best candidate but Gastornis would be pretty funny, a Hallucigenia Pokemon would be pretty interesting for how bizarre the animal was and they could play into it's eldritch appearance and naming scheme to make it a Rock/Psychic type, for last I think I would love to see a Nyctosaurus Pokemon and see them play with the idea of it having a massive sail on it's head, which they could definitely use for some creative things like a windsurfer inspiration.

doesn't help that Metal Burst is designed around a Pokemon with high HP + low defenses but Bastiodon is the complete opposite of that
Feel like it and Aggron should've gotten some sort of unique hidden ability. 'Unbreakable' or something like that - super effective physical attacks deal neutral damage instead so it's effectively just 2x weakness to the usual ground/fighting suspects

It would be cool if they made an item that allows Pokemon to use their special defense as an attacking stat, Bastiodon's special movepool is surprisingly fantastic.

Man I just had a memory unlock thinking about this thread. I remember my first playthrough of Diamond as a kid, getting the Skull Fossil, and then evolving Cranidos into Rampardos at one of the various festivals we have in Australia - I think it was A Day on the Green, 2008. You know, that shit radio rock the Gen Xers around here like like Shannon Noll, Wolfmother, Eskimo Joe, etc. anyway I ended up falling asleep after evolving it and eating idk charcoal chicken I think. Good times.
I still really like it. I think I prefer Aerodactyl and Tyrantrum as far as the angry dino fossils go but it was a staple of my Diamond playthroughs.

Wished we got more cambrian based mons or some cool mons based on permian beasts like a Gorgonopsid, Dimetrodon or Coelurosauravus, I find it depression the world nearly gave us a true dragon and yet they went extinct. Sadly Gamefreak seems to really hate fossils.
