>>57468906Sad truth of the matter is that Pokemon games actually have always been 3-year dev cycles. The leaks showed us this. The reason these games are as subpar as they are is because it's not 100% of Game Freak staff working on the games, they're divided into tiny teams dedicates to pumping out games yearly
You might get the remake/sequel/third version team to help with the end of development but main project leads get the game out and start planning and working on the next generation while the rest are busy pumping out year filler to keep the fanbase satisfied until the next real game drops. Skipping a year doesn't mean anything anymore because those Teams are now working on DLC or Legends games. They just had enough time to finish this time unlike PLA where they needed Masuda to bail them out with remakes that took a week to shit out for the November launch
