I look at Monster Hunter it gets and looks better with each installment. Even Rise was relatively good all things considered. More so, it looked impressive for a Switch game and ran it at solid 30fps.
Then I look at Pokemon and it genuinely looks like shit. Games released in the 2020s look like they were made for the Gamecube 20 years ago.
Both series have been around for decades but they couldn't have evolved differently. MH became peak gaming with gorgeous graphics.
Meanwhile Pokemon has become a pathetic mess that looks worse than a solo indie game.
