And finally we have cases of extreme dimorphism that were ignored, either for aesthetic reasons or due to the artists' ignorance, such as horns in beetles, the females lack these, crests and vibrant colours in many male birds, or the extreme case of abyssal fish where the male is tiny, without photoluminescence, a super-developed sense of smell, incapable of eating on its own, and when it finds the gigantic female it fuses with her, losing its brain and body, remaining only as a sperm sac for the female.
