>>57505659That didn't work for DK64, that shit sucks ass no matter how good at the game you are.
>>57506895Genuinely your skill improved is what's most likely. On the other hand, if you add a bunch of weirdo restrictions, you being better at the newer ones is likely more due to game design differences that do in fact make the game easier. That having been said I doubt you'll find a harder Pokemon game than the Gen 7 titles unless you're really going out of your way to play like Yawnfag, while something like XY, SS, or especially BDSP would be incredibly easy even with some particularly ridiculous restrictions.
Personally, I find the difference between the easier titles to be very interesting in the ways that they're easy
>XYMechanically has a lot of optional ways to make it easier (arguably the most and most accessible, with USUM being the only real competition), but only the catching EXP mechanic makes it easier in a technically mandatory way. On the other hand, the overall game design is probably the easiest Pokemon has ever been, both in encounter and map design.
>SSIn mandatory and expected mechanical options, it's exceptionally easy, while also hitting borderline XY lack of difficulty in the game design unless you buy the DLC which I personally think is a waste of 90 bucks.
>BDSPDespite attempting to make DP's scuffed design better, the mandatory mechanical changes make almost every choice you make pointless and makes the game insanely easy.
To summarize, XY is easy on a mostly game design level, BDSP is easy on a mostly mechanical level, while SS lies somewhere in the middle.
