>>57515896Well it's more of electric-type pokemon than the type itself.
Obviously we have the major issue of no good physical stab as well as barren coverage (even moreso than other types, further amplified by the fact that barely any electric type mons have anything to hit its greatest weakness, ground types, with).
But really the biggest things that would fly over most people's head would be that your average electric mons just suck ass. While there indeed are powerful or consistently great electric mons like Miraidon, Zapdos, or Koko, all these mons are great because they have legendary stats, often paired with a good speed tier. You could arguably just swap out their electric typing with any other type and still be just as fine, if not better. In Smogon there's just Magnezone and Rotom that don't have legendary tier stats and are above PU, and in doubles, there's like what, Electabuzz?
Another major thing that hurts your average electric types are the lack of ability options, as they all have like the same three options of Volt Absorb, Lightning Rod or Static. It's really boring when two-thirds of an entire type has the same archetype of just using v-switch or t-bolt while being slightly fast.
While bug types are absolutely useless in doubles, there are many bug types that are surprisingly good in singles, with Araq and Lokix with their 450 stats achieving what electric types could never while also being fun to use.
While Ice types complain a lot, the issue is that a lot of the mons are made to be defensive when the type is meant to be a glass cannon. When the mon is made to be a fast sweeper they indeed do work. You also can't deny that ice types have been getting more love from gf as of recent. Electric types wish they got moves like Triple Axel or Ice Spinner instead of mid moves like Rising Voltage or Supercell Slam.
