But Gamefreak knows about the impact Hex has in the internet at large, so putting her in the background was the best they could do. They knew somebody would be autistic enough to notice, and that would be free advertisement.
One random Hex walking around, and the rest is history. And they DO know about the impact. The Gen 6 Hex Maniac has new art, TO THIS DAY, even when Gen 6 came and went. Even the "planned waifu" can't cast a shade to the size of Hex fanart. Everybody would believe in fact that there's an important Hex Maniac in the game, and no: is only an easter egg where she appears in an elevator and poof, is gone.
