>>57565024Phallic imagery aside I think Palkia's design just flows better. Dialga's design is mostly fine but comparatively it's just a smooth simple blue dinosaur shape with some metal bits pasted on. A similar design style to something like baxcalibur (but executed better).
Dialga also suffers from the same issue as Salamence where the back legs get worse and worse the longer you look at them or think about them.
Even in origin forms Palkia's works better imo. I think most issues with it (aside from losing the cool bipedal Kaiju shape which is subjective) stem from the PLA model being pretty terrible and it's default poses in the games (especially in the original first datamined leaked image we saw) being the most unflattering boring possible stance.
It immediately looks better in the main official art, and other art like in the TCG elevates it further, outside the context of its in-game poses the "lack of arms" stops looking like something's missing and just works to give the design as a whole a properly ethereal quality.
Dialga's meanwhile just seems a bit confused. Like they were struggling to come up with ways to make it feel different. The gradient on the legs also feels very unfinished considering how much this legendary trio is otherwise defined by distinct color blocking.
