>>57578269>The underground, following pokemon, ball seals, contestsThey weren't replaced by direct counterparts but they were replaced in the sense that BW and BW2 introduced new features while removing those, like Entralink and funfest missions, musicals, pokestar, etc.
>If all the features they removed were your favorite featuresNow this comes down to personal preference as I'm sure you understand. I happen to prefer the replacements like how to get berries for example and think farming is tedious and monotonous
>Contests, bases, game corner, safari zoneMusicals and Pokestar, Entralink and funfest missions, Join Avenue + new minigames, and safari zone is fair (while some people don't like how some pokemon are locked to it and consider it to be better if all were catchable in the normal way).
I'm not demanding you like these "replacement" features. I just want you to understand that the choice isn't some factual step down that everyone must agree on.
I'm also not demanding that you not be bored by it or stop liking 6 more than 5. My main thing is mainly that every game has exclusives and people choose their favorites very much based on those. No game is X other game but better like how this board constantly asserts.
Let's actually take berries for example. If they eft berry farming in and just carried it over as is, I highly doubt they would have innovated in all the other ways to grind for berries, so that's why I prefer the new system. Sure, they could have done both, but for what return? Ten, the same argument could be applied to all the games with farming but no join avenue for example. Same thing with all the games with contests but without musicals and Pokestar
Imo it's the strategy of revitalizing features in Gen 5 that stood out to me and made me want to replay it, as opposed to it being a carbon copy of the other games.
