Just wish they made it more of a special attacker, honestly. The dex talks about it firing lasers or whatever.
Just checked and it also learns things like SolarBeam, but there's no point in teaching it cool stuff like that in-game because of its horrid Special Attack stat.

It would've been cool if the two lines were swapped in their purpose, with the bulky rock type being a special attacker and the cute squishy psyhcic type being a physical attacker

Since none of the physical psychic moves really fit, giving it zen headbut + thematic coverage would probably be the next best thing. Physical water moves that sound like they would break rock like liquidation would work. That or stealing crush grip from regigigas.

The GTS wouldn't let you see Pokémon you hadn't discovered, so your only choice was the Dream World or online trades. I didn't know about the DW, so it was getting scammed with online trades for me.

On-topic regarding the many examples given in this thread, it's been evident for quite a while that there's a severe lack of communication between Gamefreak's design people and gameplay people. That's why you often end up with Pokemon whose appearance and lore just don't match up with their stats, movesets and even abilities.

Because when people hear clone in the context of Pokemon, they usually think of the aesthetic of the Pokemon. Visually, Roggenrola line has much less in common with Geodude than Pikachu does with Emolga.

The foundational idea behind ronggenrola was literally “we need geodudes for our game that doesn’t have geodudes”. I would argue the pikaclones which don’t even try to conceal the fact that they’re purposely designed to be pikaclones do more to be unique than the Gigalith line does.
