A NFE is one of the best move redirecting Pokemon ever, The difference is if Pokemon cut all 1/2nd stages you'd start complaing or praising the game is now hard cause now you risk fainting more than ever or rage quitting you can't knock out a Pokemon in one move.

He has the exact same Pokemon and levels in RBY except they replaced his Rhydon with Rhyhorn. FRLG is the only Kanto games where Giovanni doesn't have a Rhyhorn for the Viridian Gym.

Origins copied the layouts of FRLG almost 1:1 for some reason. The Viridian Gym is lit like that because that's how it looks like in game.

I don't know why they nerfed him. He didn't need nerfing. Rhydon was already easy as it was, likely to be 1 shot by any water or grass type of which there were plenty

They also nerfed the Elite 4 and Blue's levels by 2 on all of their Pokemon. Just in case someone was struggling against Bruno's two Onix in the originals
