>>57594658Reprinting the cards really helps. There are cards people want more than others, but they are either stupid hard to pull (thanks Konami) or just aren't worth a lot. Like the anons said, Konami reprints cards frequently. Even if it is a very useful card, eventually it'll be reprinted.
Sometimes cards get hyped up for being 'good', which usually means someone played it in a high ranking tournament and did pretty well. For example, the recent set had a card that was like $4. Then someone played that deck in a tournament and did very well. That card immediately got priced up to $14. Now it is slowly going down to $4 again once people bought them up and probably tried the deck themselves.
Some cards retain their value, but again it is so hard to pull those cards that it usually isn't worth pursuing. You can usually find a much cheaper reprint of said card. There are some that don't follow that rule because Konami is just being a jerk to people.
