The Wii U could have succeeded if they tried at all. It didn't have a D&D like Game Master vs Adventures game to utilize the gimmick

Unironically yes. TPC could sense that mobile was the future and wanted Nintendo to exit the industry to capitalize on that market.

it could've succeeded if it wasn't called the Wii U, and if the early marketing didn't make it look like it was a Wii peripheral.

I'm happy it failed though, because the Switch is so much better and we never would've gotten it if the WU hadn't've bombed. The only thing the Wii U has going for it over the Switch is the native Wii support and the fact you can play NDS games on it without having to emulate a touch screen (the Pad touchscreen works for NDS games).

they all work on my hacked Wii U. I also use it to play romhacks and fantranslations. I just wish it was powerful enough to emulate the 3DS, too.

Never, TPC don't own the rights and Gam eFreak still release on consoles, 'cause they still earn 8-figure sales totals (and with console games gonna hit $70 for Switch2, it's leaving money on the table abandoning consoles for poornig consoles).
