>>57600252I know it is, for the simple reason WAAAAY back in GBA days, Pokémon, the biggest name in kid's gaming (despite pokémania dying just prior to GBA launch) topscored on GBA, while that system's iteration of MK lagged behind by a fair old clip. Then in the 3DS era, MK sold nearly 19m, compared to XY's 16.76m. If kids were buying MK, there wouldn't be an almost 3m gap between it and Pokémon, never mind MK8 Deluxe has been #1 all-time on Switch LONG before Nintendo started pushing Switches and Pokémon at kids (or parents of kids with LGPE) while Pokémon on Switch has only bested Gen 2's sales as of yet.
And that's the whole point of the Direct, you knob-gobbling drooling dickhead, show off more games to adults, along with 3rd party studios' games launching on-system for launch year, without having to bother showing off Game Freak's new Pokémon game, launching for Switch1.
