>>57600969Kanto genuinely felt industrial and like a "small origins, but utopia tech on the horizon" feel
Johto countered it with traditional feels and made cool ruins for the first time
Hoenn felt tropical and returned technological wonder of the world while giving the impression of weather-taming soon
Sinnoh felt like a modern renaissance with all the greek inspos affecting architecture kind of like how skeuomorphism feels
Unova felt grand with cool shots like Royal Unova, Black City, Marine Tube, or any version's badge checks. These felt huge and like a genuinely futuristic megalopolis with routes in between and impossible-looking towers like dragonspiral and relic castle and abyssal ruins, and nature defying areas like chargestone cave and reversal mountain
Now, these 3D regions feel less fantastical IMO and more like simple versions of their real world locations, but parts look cool nonetheless:
Kalos felt more or less like France IRL pixie-ish and with the general vibe of a constant sunset
Alola felt like Hawaii except with functioning communism somehow, and by that I mean an actual paradise with no responsibilities and a "you can go anywhere" vibe, but honestly alola and palled started to feel more like "you're a kid being let out, but not too much" now that I think about it kalos also has this feeling too with how many friends follow you
Galar felt bigger but less fantastical. there were moments of grandeur like the florescent city and the ruins, and some architecture, with everything glowing nicely. The IoA is roughly the same, but the CT felt refreshing because of cool ruins, and it felt like expanses lost to time. same with PLA
Paldea feels almost too normal most of the tie, but Area Zero by far makes up for it. The feeling of that place is....just wow.
Kitakami felt like Johto, but BA was great again, with an industrial and futuristically feel making a greta return
Hopefully ZA feels more dystopian instead of the bland cities we've been getting lately
