People like to shit on Meganium for being the "worst" starter Pokemon but it's a victim of Game Freak's poor grasp of balancing and shitty game design that has been a thing for the past 25+ years, but Pokemon fans and Twitter retards are not ready for that discussion yet.

Maybe in SwSh, but in SV its movepool is lacking. You pretty much either need to run Ground Terablast or Play Rough to get good coverage.

Alternatively, a Pokemon can have a dogshit movepool but an incredible typing and stat spread, and completely get away with it because of its broken ability option(s) and signature move, since GameFreak is obsessed with giving most Pokemon a signature quality in order to make them stand out a little.

If its signature move is good enough to make it relevant I wouldn't say it has a bad movepool
Plenty of Pokémon have made a career out of being able to click Spore/Spikes/Knock Off

It almost had all 3.
Give it 10 more speed over the useless Attack stat, and it would be a complete perfection.
Now without a Mega, clearly, it needs better speed, instead of being lightweight Alakazam
