Legends is effectively a side series, so I don't count it any more than I would a pokemon getting "cut" from Shuffle or Ranger. Whether Gamefreak considers it part of the core series is something I give no credence to, as their categorisation skills are painfully lacking compared to mine.

similarly Goldeen/Seaking was in literally every single mainline game until SV. an uninterrupted 8 generation streak. What the fuck. No one has ever used Seaking at any point. It's so bad it's unusable, and it can't even be used as an HM slave. Yet someone at Gamefreak made sure it was always included.

The amount of asshurt that this fucker caused by being post-game only in Gen5 was unreal. It's the source of 99% of the complaining about the Unovan dex featuring only new mons before post game. So many autists screeching that they couldn't solo the game with a Gyarados they grinded out before the second gym like they had in gens 1-4.
