>>57620149The quality (ie. artistic talent) has gone up but the "soul" of what make Pokemon lewds unique is practically minuscule in this day and age. This isn't really the fandom's fault, it's more so the priority shift in internet artists that favor trend chasing and lowest common denominator art.
In simpler words: Pokemon art had been kinda "metagamed":
>Pokemon is practically more well known than Disney now>Porn sells>It's historic fact that most artists and their views love certain "archatypes" of Pokemon (The dogmon, the catmon, the blatant furbait, the Lucario clone, any Pokemon that looks remotely feminine) making those Pokemon the most popular out of the packWhich leads to:
>Artists draw lewds of the most popular Pokemon both because they too like them or they wanna rack up engagement>90% of it is just anthro slop (Pokemon head on painted Human bodies)>Everyone naturally loves the Human body so that's what they consume and create in mass>Self fulfilling cycleI'm not gonna say things were better in the early internet days
because I wasn't born back then but when I see early gen 3 - 4 porn it at least felt like the artists doing it because, in spirit, they LIKE Pokemon for being Pokemon and not whatever fetishised view of Pokemon they have in their heads...
Maybe it's just nostalgia but you can't deny the culture was different back then.
