If Tomioka wasn't forced by executives to copy Naruhina than Ash and Serena's chemistry most likely would have been like Hibiki and Kotone considering Tomioka was a head writer of Brave Beats and also wrote Ash and Dawn's chemistry on DP series. I think that executive name was Shūkichi Kanda. Who the heck use plot points for romance and female characters from freaking Naruto of all things.
