Infiltration Gone Wrong By Minako Tomoka
Cynthia pressed her back into the cold metal wall, hoping that the clink of her shoes against the floor wouldn’t give her away. A puff of mist escaped her mouth as she exhaled, her skin tight with chills. The inside of the Team Galactic HQ was a massive drop in temperature compared to the outside for some reason. While it was merely a spring day, deep in the bowels of this dark, sinister place, it felt utterly frigid.
Aside from feeling like the inside of a freezer, the headquarters of Sinnoh’s local criminal syndicate was strangely empty. Cynthia had snuck into the base through a tunnel in a Veilstone City warehouse, and while she had a simple objective in mind, it became far more complicated when she realized this place was a cold, winding labyrinth.
It was a maze-like complex of hallways connected to small rooms, most of which had nothing of note. She had managed to dodge the prying eyes of the wandering grunts so far, as she slipped in and out of the shadows, but she had expected a lot more. Cynthia hadn’t even had to send out any of her Pokemon to aid her in battle yet. Not that mere Galactic grunts would stand a chance against Sinnoh’s mighty champion, but the emptiness seemed…somewhat odd.
She speculated that their leader must have sent most of them out on other operations, which only meant that he must have been planning something very big, and setting it up very fast.
Cynthia was determined to stop those plans at any cost, because whatever the Galactic leader had in mind, it was not going to be good for Sinnoh- and the rest of the world.
Cynthia’s objective was to infiltrate her way into the deepest point of Team Galactic’s Headquarters, and free the Lake Trio- Uxie, the being of knowledge, Mesprit, the being of emotion, and Azelf, the being of willpower, from the clutches of the wicked syndicate…before it was too late.
But right now, Cynthia wasn’t sure if she was getting any closer or not.
