>>57665095>>57665084>>57664212It's weird because a big part of the franchise is the idea that every Pokemon can be befriended, so having an entire type e labeled as "The bad guys" goes against that. And even in the franchise itself doesn't treat Dark types as evil.
An anon pointed this out in an Absol thread like a year ago but short version, "evil" isn't a good translation. The dark type is less about evil and more of un umbrella term for things that cause an aura negativity (common fears, sneaky tactics, nighttime, bad luck, anger, etc). Yokai watch has a group of monsters called "Shady", that term seems to it the essence of what Dark Pokemon are.
That's why Absol isn't a psychic type, it's not predicting the future, its sensing incoming bad luck.
