>>57680107The maze-like complex was a struggle to navigate, everything looked the same, and stepping on one warp panel might take you back to a place you’d already been, leaving you to wind your way back to try again. Warp panels were a crapshoot, there was no way to know where you would end up. Once you stepped on that glowing tile, you closed your eyes and opened them to find yourself in an entirely different room, left to make sense of your surroundings and piece together some concept of where you currently were in this cold, labyrinthine complex.
Cynthia was getting frustrated by this point. She felt as though she had been wandering around in circles over and over. Trying to compose herself, she took a deep breath and stepped onto the last warp panel, which glowed a warm yellow. She closed her eyes as the light enveloped her, and when she opened them…the warp panel beneath her feet had vanished.
The room Cynthia found herself in was a dimly lit chamber, illuminated by a lurid greenish glow. But there was nothing to be seen in this strange place, not even crates of equipment. The only thing aside from herself in the room was an odd-looking device affixed to the ceiling, something like an upside-down antenna suspended from the frigid metal.
Cynthia looked around, searching for the exit since this room clearly had nothing to offer.
But the exit was nowhere to be found. There was a thick steel door that was sealed tightly shut, clearly something that was meant to be open from the outside rather than within. A pang of dread churned in Cynthia’s gut. Whatever this room was for, it was obvious that whatever came in here was not intended to come out.
The blonde champion reached for one of the Poke Balls on her belt to send out one of her faithful Pokemon to free her from this dungeon-like place, but a deep, sharp male voice cut into her brain like a knife, making her freeze in her tracks.
