When the egg hatched, the world was born along with Another, and the titan was sundered, becoming that which makes up the world, and the Other used it to shape the world as we know it, forging time and forming space, instilling all with knowledge, feeling, and will.
As the millennia passed, the sundered titan slowly regained its strength, the new concepts filling its awareness, and giving it thought. Driven by a desire to return to simply Being, it sought the Other and demanded for its form to be restored, its full power returned to it.
The Other refused, as its creations were aware and alive, and it tried to reason with the Titan. To restore the Titan would unmake all, ripping away life itself from the Other's creations. Even the Titan itself would not achieve what it wishes, as the Titan's mind had been affected, and it could no longer Be as it once was.
Their conflict was long and dangerous, and the end of it is lost to myth, but the remnants of the clash were scattered and are the source of the problem.
You see, a colossal fuckup found not just Plates, but full on Regis and attempted to fashion a weapon that would put Kalos' Ultimate Weapon to shame. A chamber was crafted to feed their energies into one another, feeding upon weaknesses to generate a pulse of Infinity Energy as fuel, to be fired upon whoever he chose.
Ultimately, a young man wearing strange armor stopped his plan with the aid of his companions, but the damage was done, and the land was drained of its vitality. For centuries, attempts to revitalize it or use it by humans have failed, though recently efforts have been gaining a foothold, and the start of an ecosystem have begun to flourish.
One of the major contributors to this is the Aether Foundation, who have been rehoming Pokemon in need of a new environment when possible.
