I made one back when I was like 9 during gen 2. It was a baby porygon based on early 3d vector graphics called vecgon, it was basically a vector pyramid made of pink and blue lines with dots near the top for eyes and 2 smaller pyramids at the base for feet, no separate head or tail, and its shiny was green and orange because those where common colors for old monochrome displays. The dex entry/lore was something along the lines of "An early prototype of porygon, it can't do much outside of the pc and wasn't intended for release. Its potential can still be reached with hard work and lots of love." Didn't plan out stats or moves or anything though, and like the rest of the line it was pure normal type. I sent my drawing with the notes I made to Nintendo and got back a generic "We don't accept unsolicited ideas, but thank you for your enthusiasm." reply letter along with a pack of cards. I didn't understand that was a template letter until years later so I was so proud someone at Nintendo liked my design and was just as sad as I was they couldn't make it a real pokemon that I kept that letter in the front of my binder through middle school.

Unfortunately, I'm stuck as an ideas guy. I have lots of concepts rolling around in my head and in notes for what I think would make for cool Fakemon but I can't draw for shit.
I probably could learn if I applied myself, but I haven't really made the time for it. I don't have money to spare for commissions either.

That hasn't stopped me.
I have a lot of fun drawing out my designs and when I eventually commission an artist, they'll have at least a rough idea of what I'm looking for.

This is an idea I've had for the grass-waifu for the region I've been tinkering with. I like it, I'm just not sure I want to use it. I've also got an idea for like a creepy corn husk doll that could work.

My honest opinion - from a technical standpoint, it is very well drawn. However, it's not very memorable, it's animal (some mustelid i guess?) + element and the element isn't incorporated very well (at least in the final stage). If i were to pick this starter i'd keep it at the middle stage

thanks. it's not meant to be a fakemon, but i'm glad you like it. i'm in the process of developing my own monster tamer/battler project, which obviously has some pokemon inspiration, but i am designing everything to have my own sort of style, from the mons themselves to the actual battle mechanics. i'd love to share more details, but things are still early in development.

Just now. Based off a Crown of Thorns starfish. Poison/Water would make sense. Or some kind of Starmie variation/progression.

The series in which it is introduced should have a significant sea section, but with rocky atolls, vast seaweed thickets, and thundering seas among the archipelagos (so every type may be represented.) The name of the Pokemon should be Crown O' [insert name of sea.]

Its ability: Its water type moves will have STAB and not be resisted by the water type.

Not a game changer, but a bro for your run of this fictional pacific-island-themed map. Probably slow and defensible.

Yes, frequent poster here.
I've started going through my designs and making the final artwork and info pages. I'm pretty happy with how they ended up looking. I've only done my grass and fire starters so far but I'm working on the rest as we speak.

I made this giant Salamander Charizard regional varient. It keeps it's flame in a bubble of air so it can swim without letting its flame go out. It's fire/water. Sorry the drawing is so rough. Kek

When I was a kid there was like a coloring page in a magazine of like Munna or some shit and I colored it as a fire type because that'd be fucking awesome but my childhood friend was over and she colored it correctly and I got so mad and threw a fit and then she left afterwards.
It would've been really cool though trust me.
