But even 5 and 6 are because they are clear stylistical departures from the original pokémon design zeitgeist.
Up to gen 4 every pokémon integrate perfectly with each other.
Gen 5 adds some weirdness and, although 6 minimizes It a little, the damage was already done.
Nonetheless, It is in gen 7 where they Double-down on the nu-pokemon-ness of designs and gen 9 is the pinnacle of the shitstorm.
