I actually love Tepig, Pignite and Emboar.
They were my first choice for starters in genV and when I picked up Alola I boxed my starter after breeding a shiny with Sucker Punch.

I did yep, he's always been my favourite Unova starter by far. and I actually like the Unova starter trio. He reminds me of Ganon, he's cool as hell. and Tepig is one pf the best first stage starters.

I agree one of the only trios I like all the mons equally in which is rare Unova and Hoenn, I'd say Alola but that's for different reasons.
Smash made me like Incineroar more and I like Hisuian Decidueye more than normal so idk if I'd count them since I didn't originally like them in their original game

Thing is without changing its design or concept, fighting is by far the best second type for it. The only other second types that the work would be ground (which would be a massive stretch and would only work because ground types and so broad), and dark, since the character it’s based on was a pig demon but the dex calls it protective of it friends that goes against Dark. And it being Mono type would be even more hated since not only would it be called bland, but it would have 1 less STAB and far less moves in general. It would also be outside despised by game freak too

You're a raving lunatic if you think VGC is being shifted to a povvo-friendly battle engine sim, when its sole goal is kill showdown, by immediately being competition to Pokémon's new free to play battle engine sim, thus enabling the to finally nail the cunts to a wall and leave 'em, twitching.
But VGC is going to remain on cart, as much because they'll introduce ANOTHER new gimmick they'll want to shill, thus will keep "proper" battling competitions locked to a £65/€70/$90 game purchase and related system to play it on, to ensure Worlds isn't filled with filthy povvos, but people with money to spend on merch, as per fucking usual.
