>>57682739There's a clear difference between "a specific breed where the whole line adapted, and is thus able to be preserved and kept alive to this very day" and "a specific reactionary evolution for a Pokemon who only needs to adapt upon evolution, and thus only kept alive through spacetime bullshit importing these already-evolved Pokemon into the modern day since the environment they evolve in no longer exists as of current."
Just to name a few examples: Growlithe, Sneasel, Qwilfish, hell even White Stripe Basculin? All easy to preserve because their lowest stages are offshoots.
You could make a good case for Kleavor and Ursaluna being easy to preserve too, since it's pretty obvious they want to make Black Augurite and Peat Blocks obtainable later in modern day games, it's just that as of current they're prioritizing "buy PLA" because Pokemon concerns itself with profits first and foremost (and even then, Kleavor and Scyther appear in Blueberry Academy's Terarium, flocking around ore deposits that look exactly like Black Augurite).
The problem we currently face arises with mons who have a specific environmental reaction, such as the Hisuian Starters, Braviary and Lilligant, and even Wyrdeer to an extent. And it's honestly unlikely they'll address this factor and stick to event distributions (or simply goad you into, again, buying PLA, especially because it has another 7 year of longevity or so on its belt due to Switch 2 being backwards compatible with Switch 1 and Nintendo's model of keeping old games alive via Switch 2 Upgrades).
Why is it unlikely? Simple, it's been almost 10 years and they still have not given us an easy way to evolve Pokemon into their Alolan counterparts outside of Alola. Despite the fact that once a mon in Box goes into HOME, it's a one-way-trip, so any mon you want to hold onto until you can evolve it into its Alolan form has to wait until SM remakes, because it's incredibly clear they're stubborn about "only turns Alolan in Alola."
