I mean, anon, pokemon visually has always been behind other games in the console's lineup outside of gen 1, gen 2 at a stretch.
it's always been about the gameplay, the story, and the creatures themselves that have interested people, not the visuals themselves.

Wrong, they were atrocious stains on the franchise, and required GF to course-correct hard, fortunately giving us the Pokemon Renaissance with Gen 6 and eventually leading to Sword and Shield, the best games in the series and some of the best RPGs ever made.

Digimon Story DS did not look good, I don't know what this post is trying to prove.

For what it worth, BW had a much more ambitious world map than those games with the 3D buildings and towns.

Graphics are among the least important aspects of a game. It can look like shit but still play well and be fine.
So long as it’s not that indie pixelart nonsense, that style is so bad and physically painful to look at I won’t touch a game with it
