Someone in /rheg/ posted a few tierlists made by anons here and I noticed Odyssey was always placed in top tier or second tier, what did you guys like about it? I played for the first stratum a few months ago and put it down hoping the full game would be released by now, and while I did like the double battles and the few regional forms I saw and I like the premise, the game felt very small? First stratum was basically just viridian forest sized, the islands were all just like 20 spaces of nothing and a few patches of grass, and that had me a bit concerned.

Ironically enough, now that you mention it, before the whole mod thing went under before, one of my suggestions for how to change a few characters was giving Venam more scenes in Gearen before the story kicked up and also rewriting her slightly so that she felt insecure due to being so normal compared to everyone else and very much like a fish out of water who's way out of her league but wants to keep going because of her friends. I think it would have made her far more endearing at least. I think my biggest gripe with the lesbian shit is that it's so forced, two girls who have no chemistry or anything, they had nothing before Jan went full trottle shoving his yuri fetish into the game and it's really obnoxious.

It's such a simple premise, but it's at least something, then later in the game you can have these 3 having serious talks or falling outs because you've SEEN they've gone through a lot.

The annoying parts are the forced homolust and the UI and catching mechanics, which can be really annoying. Aside from a couple really bad Lance scenes, I think the worst this game has done is regularly break the pace to have Red remind everyone how much he likes taking it in the ass at really awkward times in dialogue. While it's intended to wink and nudge to the audience that the game has gay options, it's not only much more forced than any of the other dialogue in the game which makes it stand out, but he goes through this routine 5-6 times which makes each time it happens feel increasingly "yeah... I get it...".
