I don't really like any of Paldea's starters. Skeledirge was close to being cool, but they fucked up the proportions.
I've shared this image a few times on here, it shows how easy it would've been to make it work

Because It is not a crocodile, It has so many details, squares, colors, lines and a weird little fireball on his nose.
Dont get me wrong, It is the least worst starter of the past 2 gens, but It still is bad.

I don't understand why they made it look like it was made out of folded sheet metal? Why make it look like it's 1mm thick, why give it all those unnatural angles and shapes that look like they were pressed into it?

I'm not generally one of those "kino monster/retarded cartoon animal" fags but I do believe that Skeledirge would've benefitted from a more monstruous silhouette. Its more natural, crocodilian proportions clash with all of the other design elements it's got going on; it certainly doesn't help that its proportions are very different from those of Fuecoco and Crocalor, who were bipedal and more barrel-shaped.
Even then, I still prefer it to the furbait cat and the faggot peacock.
