Maylene, Cameron, Korrina, her grandfather, and Kukui were all Lucario trainers, but none of them had aura powers. Those have never been a requirement for training Lucario. They help but they're not necessary. Just feels like a really random and unnecessary thing to tack onto Roy all of a sudden.
