People had been wanting Ash to have a Lucario for years, but after so many missed chances, seeing so many other Lucarios, and them being so same-y people just stopped giving a shit.
It's insane how Cameron's Lucario is the only one ever that has had an actual personality and a moveset outside of the norm with it having Copycat.

When you count the numbers his Lucario actually had ridiculously little screentime when compared to all his previous aces, it just looks like a screentime hoarder because of just how little screentime the entire shitneys team had in general. He's just the one eyed-king of the land of the blind.
