Pikachu is a cartoon mouse yet it's one of the most popular Pokemon of all time.
The actual problem is Game Freak skimping out on their stats, movepools, and/or abilities, but no one is ready for that discussion yet because that would mean beloved Pokemon such as Sceptile would also be held to scrutiny (and the pokefags would seethe about how you're supposedly dragging down Sceptile to "Meganium's level" for stating things like they are. Just like how Zebstrika has a wasted ability slot with Motor Drive despite already being fast (116 Speed), Sceptile does too (120 Speed) with Unburden. They both also have shit movepools due to Game Freak being a retard (Zebstrika being a physical Electric type Pokemon and Sceptile 's movepools goes against its stats, like Typhlosion). Popular Pokemon should not be immune to scrutiny. Lucario for example is a shitmon due to the powercreep, joining all the other Pokemon that Pokefags looked down on for being shit.
"But Lucario was good from the start". Like Snorlax and Tauros? Ok.
