>>57731939>that bouncy hairIt makes so much sense yet this is the first time I've seen it like that, and it's so fucking cute it's making me feel things...
Oh, the fat ass is amayzing too!
>>57731279She would be depressed and more unsure about herself. I'm sure part of the reason why AniMay becomes a natural coordinator so fast is the inspiration her dad brings her. An inspiration that subconsciously tells her that she can also be successful at what she does with enough effort and dedication. But if her dad stops being that father figure of inspiration, I can see her Hoenn journey being less smooth, ending with her barely making it to the Grand Festival at best.
She would also be more open to Drew advances from the get-go. I feel like part of the reason why her canon-self dislikes him at first is because, despite acknowledging him as a strong opponent on the inside, his cockiness / arrogance is off-putting because they're traits that her father didn't have, as she subconsciously thinks that 'desirable' strong people are upstanding and exemplary.
Brock would also lowkey become more of a father figure than Ash. Since Brock caregiving (motherly) instincts would overlap with hers, resulting in her also learning the basics of what Brock does out of inspiration (cooking, taking care of Pokemon, etc.). Ash would be more of a 'big brother' figure that reignites her passion for being 'the best' at what she does, but not enough to match the levels of canon AniMay.
Overall, I feel like a May from a timeline where her fathers divorce because of Norman being unfaithful results in a May who's more diverse at what she does, but also in a May that's highly-likely less successful at the contest stuff. No princess of Hoenn, but still a strong-willed lass. Probably ends up being a tradwife for Drew.
