>>57732220They won't because they just don't seem to want to do so, maybe it doesn't fit with what they want for the series.
There isn't any examples in the main games or main anime of human X Pokémon romance being shown to be a positive thing in the present day in-universe in a serious unironic unambiguous way. When the idea is ever brought up it's either antiquated, a joke, ambiguous or shown as wrong. All the examples people give fall in line with that.
We know from Sinnoh Folk Story 3 that humans and Pokémon used to get married, but now they don't any more, it also saying the back then Pokémon and humans used to be considered the same thing. But there's nothing concrete to suggest it is still something that Pokémon and humans do in present day, especially given what it says.
It's not just because Pokémon is franchise that children are meant to be able partake in, as there are other media for children that do have human X non-human romantic relationships exactly in the manner I'm saying clearly Pokémon seems to be avoiding having.
>>57732245>No one in the pokemon world would call a pokemon a petWe know some Pokémon are pets.
Professor Oak at the start of RBY:
>This world is inhabited by creatures called Pokémon! For some people, Pokémon are pets. Other use them for fights. But that's not really a bad thing, as what it means for a Pokémon to be a pet is different from IRL animals.

As in they still were different, but it's just that Pokémon and humans simply were considered the same thing, which I'm guessing led to problems as they saw over time how different they really are.
