It was my favorite Pokemon when I was like 5 because of the anime. I still like it now but wouldn't say it's a favorite (Raichu is better).

Recently I was even wondering what I used to see in it for it to be a favorite since I don't find the design especially cute anymore (skinny or fat) and it's not even super fun to use in game until you evolve it because it can't take a hit. Then I watched an old episode of the anime and realized that probably at least 90% of the reason I liked it so much and found it cute was because of Ikue Otani's vocal performance. It's still really fucking cute and goes a long way toward making the character feel more alive
