While I haven't drawn these concepts yet I've been coming up with a Zebra muscle pokemon.
One way could take is as a regional Shellder that doesn't evolve. Instead it has swarm form where makes like a giant shell golem.
Or a regional Clampearl that evolves into a lamprey. Both of them are invasive species in Michigan so it could work.
