>>57763341Ghetsis is evidently rich and Unova's clearly in a pre-Internet-replaces-everything state. He'd probably pay the media to shut up about any incidents that are notable enough to warrant a news story, and everything from Nacrene would just be wild rumors about a seemingly benevolent organization.
Something to note is even the rangers of Pinwheel don't seem to have realized what happened, considering when you're chasing down Plasma, it's business as usual for them, so it's possible, albeit unlikely, that they were more stealthy once they escaped Nacrene than the abstracted cutscenes would imply. That, again, seems like a stretch, but no one in Pinwheel seems concerned and I am not sure how else to explain that.
I'm willing to say that Nacrene is probably the least thought out portion of the Plasma story. At least N's castle has the justification that you can use Pokémon labor over a long period of time to reduce suspicion, combined with the fact that the castle may actually have been there before the League was and was just retrofitted for the attack. That's also an incredible stretch, but at least SOMETHING could be come up with.
>>57763598I'm not saying it's fantastic writing, and frankly I enjoyed it in the "it's so bad it's good" kind of way, but I am pointing out that the most common criticism is fundamentally bad and a better one should be sourced. There's plenty to criticize, Nacrene's heist and N's castle are literally right there and you can see how hard it was for me to theorize anything plausible, unlike the Dreamyard which is so fucking obvious a kid would get why you can't just go up to an stranger with that story and expect them to believe you, AND the other anon's mentioned schism within Plasma that I had forgotten about.
This fucking conversation is SUCH a meme...
