>>57765398You do understand mid-Gen games don't sell, yeah?
Oh sure, they hit 7 figures usually. But 7.6m after 17.65m is a fucktonne of drop-off and 12m isn't that much better. Switch saw a 10m increase on playerbase over all past new Gen pairs not on Game Boy (they're now outselling Gen 2 era sales marques) which similarly saw an increase of players receptive to buying mid-Gen games. USM sold 9.23m, L: A 15m. They more than got the worth of the dev cycle, given budget was likely the same as previous mid-gen games, but the retail price was $60 a piece and they earned an extra $346.2m from the extra 5.77m sales they found in between Gen 7 and Gen 8.
