i got a friend who has pokemon diamond.
i got heartgold
are there any fun pokemons to surprise him with by trading one to him? what is really rare or impossible to get in diamond?

Breed him a Munchlax, it’s probably the ‘hardest’ pokemon to catch across the series. The Eevees are postgame in DP. Riolu, Togepi, Misdreavus, Gligar, Ralts, Heracross are some others that are hard to get, late game, or post game.

This, and try getting a Drifloon for it in return. Munchlax is one of the hardest pokemon to get in DP while Drifloon is one of the easiest since you get that one guaranteed spawn every week, but it's completely unobtainable in HGSS. Great trade up for both parties.

Get a Gible too. I think that was one HGSS needed months to spawn in the safari zone.
