In gen 3 he is. Especially landing surprise drill peck on celebi and other common grass/bug/fighting mons like Breloom and Heracross. Chipping mons down with sand stream and spikes is fun.

This guy in gen 7 OU. The high of getting a fell stinger kill and immediate concession or just able to btfo tapus was too much fun. It was annoying in gen 6 since you had to waste a slot on protect but gen 7 made it a blast to use.

Popped this thing on my team midway through Scarlet because it plugged a few holes in my type matchups, and it was just stupid fun. Blew me away how much I ended up loving this dumb bird. I didn't have any crazy strategy with it or anything, it just consistently hit harder than I expected it to, matched up well against opponents (Did you know it checks Arven's entire team?) and just generally outperformed every expectation i had for it. Feels exactly like what Pokemon's supposed to be about

I've been having a lot of fun using Celesteela recently. I think the defensive sets are pretty good, but man is it fun to rip teams in half with Autotomize. Either special with power herb+meteor beam, or just swinging with heavy slam and EQ.

By using rest or protect just a like any other bulky mon. In gen 3, only rock, ground, and steel types can passively heal with leftovers due to Tyranitar's sandstream. This is also what makes protect Swampert such a good tank.

The last point is by far the most important, especially in generations without a team preview. Being able to scout for pursuit, hidden power, or other coverage moves allows you to pivot more effectively.

Opponent probably also has a Lando-T of his own and you won't know what it does either until you fight. It can be supportive. It can be offensive. It can be any combination thereof. It can be slow, it can be fast, it can be choiced with any of the three items (yes, Specs too), possibilities are limitless and niches are immeasurable. Other mons wish they had a tenth of that depth, a hundredth of that set variety, a millionth of that versatility. Lando-T's biggest weakness is that he can't have another Lando-T as his teammate.

Are you using defensive skarm? If it's killing momentum you could run it as a suicide lead with stealth rock/spikes/brave bird/taunt with a custap berry. Pairs well with zoroark as a spinblocker and fits the team's offensive style
