They take a gap year every 10 years, to line the next new Gen pair release with the milestone anniversary (2006 - 10th anniversary - Gen 4, 2016 - 20th anniversary - Gen 7, 2026 - 30th anniversary - Gen 10). That Switch 2 was supposed to release in '24 until Nintendo pushed it back and Game Freak revealing L: Z-A upgrade for S2 in its reveal direct implies it was due last year, which would have left '25 the gap year. As it stands, they took '24 off, have a game for this christmas in L: Z-A and will continue the evolution of the series on S2 next year. So no, we're not expecting Gen 10 before the year ends and that's before even taking into consideration the reveal, marketing and release cycle all Game Freak games undergo (big titles announced in February, rehash and remake games announced generally late May/early June, Oct/Nov release date, though all since XY have been November releases). you need to start paying attention to the thing lad, they'd signalled this clear and clean since announcing L: Z-A for this year and only codified it with release dates still being late/winter 2025.
