Why the fuck is it a Steel-type? Is it just because RS were hastily thrown together and they fucked up trying to make it Dark-type, or is there a Japanese lore reason?

Mawile is based off a Taisho era girl with a mix of a yokai. The Mega Evolution even has the whole Hakama pants + Kimono(Haikara) combo plus the head being shaped like a bow which was the usual fashion for woman of that period.

Steel typing might be reference to the shift in woman's rights and industrialization in that time period in Japan I guess?
Could also just be Samurai Sword = Steel too.

It's funny how /vp/ gets the occasional Tinkaton or Mawile threads, but no one ever make threads for the other Fairy/Steels like Klefki, Zacian, and Magearna

Both Mawile and Sableye are such mistypes.
Should be Dark/Fairy and Dark/Rock.

Most Dark-types are actively violent and cruel, and/or go out of their way to make people's days worse. Being kind of scawy-looking and having a dark color scheme doesn't draw Haxorus any attention. Nor Seviper, nor Zebstrika, nor Toucannon.
