>>57786761I don't know this arc either beyond Moon's stupid role of somehow getting a doctorate shortly after developing the capacity to form long-term memory but yeah I'm not big on these either. Feels like after BW there hasn't been one trainer that I think has a completely solid team.
>SunI think this is worse. Too many tiny or unevolved mons, I'm not seeing an obvious theme besides maybe "he likes cats I guess" but I know there must be some context I'm missing had I actually read the arc. It's not even like surprisingly bad or anything; it's just the same level of bland that it feels a lot of the weaker teams in this series fall into, where it just ends up looking like a bunch of random mons with some NFEs thrown in.
>MoonThis isn't great (5 mons, really?) but I can at least detect a theme so that puts her above Sun. Decidueye obviously matches the arrow but I'm not gonna give a ton of credit for that, since I think it's clear Kusaka decided she'd have a Decidueye first due to the
sort of sexist pattern of always giving the female character the starter type weak against the male character's, and so made her an archer for that reason.
But even beyond that there's a theme of poison/technology so okay, that's something. I guess Muk is kind of a cool choice since it's not pretty/cute. I think if she had one more mon I'd be able to call it a decent enough team, but right now that blank spot is pretty conspicuous.
