>>57793424There is a constant stream of new sets that need to be printed in appropriate numbers. Ths takes monoths of lead up time and planning. So limited amounts are printed at a time. This means the windows for reprints are either limited, or similarly planned months in advance to prevent delaying newer sets.
Because 99% of people who collect now are in it to make money, people invariably buy out as much as they can, hoping they've hit gold and can resell in the immediate future (scalpers) or the far future (investors). Because the norm is to buy everything out, there will never be enough standing stock to meed demand.
The only real way they could fix this is they went full PTO, down to individual hits and told people "you can get what you want, but there might be delays depending on order fulfilments"
