>>57790503I agree, OP. I miss when Teams were actual villains, not misunderstood, comic relief anti-heroes. It made beating them more accomplishing and they were consistent threats to the plot. But nowadays, we only get goofy teams that wastes your time with their gags, while the actual real threat are "twist" villains that's hardly associated with said team and wants to do something crazy involving whatever gimmick and/or new unique species group that is featured in the game.
Now, I'll admit that Skull was a nice change of pace for it's time(and a much needed palate cleanser after Flare), but I don't like that they've became a trendsetter for new teams going forth. At least, go back to teams being just organized criminals like Rocket for a while and then, bring back world ending cults like Galactic.
All I'm asking is for them to alternate between different types of teams instead of repeating the same type until people eventually get tired of the trope all together.
