Stealth Rock nerfed so many otherwise intersting mons, type based entry hazards were a mistake and fixed percent Spikes would've made Gen 4-5 cooler in particular

Yeah I am making some of my own teams now when I went to make actual fun teams featuring UUBL and below mons but it sure would be nice if all these smogon elitists with 20 years into this game put actual effort into spreading their knowledge

I agree, I think Baton Pass was the issue.

Ban that instead or add a clause that prevents passing boosts accrued from previous Baton Pass recipients. That lets Pokemon like BP Zapdos or Ninjask continue to keep their niche but prevents the bullshit of full BP chain teams.

They should do like 1/32 to grounded mons and 1/4 to non grounded mons. Or just have it's distribution radically nerfed. Sudowoodo with SR is perfectly fine. Maybe then, we wouldn't have gotten the abomination that is boots which was meant for charizarino but just enables fat often regenerating spike immune pokemon, which partly justifies the need for better knock off in gen 8 and 9.

It's banned in every tier in gen 3 but OU, where it has a complex rule.

So yeah it's the move. But that also means there is genuinely no tier on gen 3 where you can use Baton Pass Mr. Mime. He is simply too powerful.

1. Knock Off is 97.5 base power.
2. It's only that strong if it knocks off an item.
3. Yes, removing items is a good thing. It leads to interesting positioning since you know better than your opponent what you don't want to get knocked off forcing you into sub-optimal switches so you don't get important items removed

Poison was fine just being a strong defensive type. Resisting Fighting, U-turn, Grass, and absorbing Toxic/Toxic Spikes was good enough. If it absolutely needed a buff, making it supereffective on Bug again would've sufficed. Maybe take away Ghost and Fighting's resistance to Bug to compensate.

Gen 3 was the first gen of Smogon's existence and they didn't know what the fuck they were doing back then. The UU Banlist was based more off of vibes than actual power level. But since no one plays Gen 3 UU and the playerbase doesn't want to unfreeze the tiers, nothing will be done about it.

Being OU+NatDex limited will do that. The regulations for VGC help somewhat, but even that's wearing thin.
Poketubers (the comp ones) need to embrace the weird and start playing more than just your occasional OM

Branching out to other metas is just going to lose them views. It already has. The community for old metas and OMs is relatively small compared to VGC/OU.
